About me

About Me

Hello, I’m Jennifer, and I specialise in psychodynamic counselling and psychotherapy. I’m dedicated to offering a warm, confidential, and non-judgemental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings.

My Approach

My approach is rooted in psychodynamic counselling, a talking therapy that helps uncover how past experiences and relationships may be influencing your life today.

Many of us face anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, relationship struggles, or work challenges at different times in our lives. Counselling can help uncover patterns and provide insight into how these challenges have developed, offering the clarity and self-awareness to move forward with greater freedom.

Working Together

I understand that reaching out can feel daunting. Life’s challenges, whether sudden or long-standing, are often difficult to face alone. I’m here to offer empathy, insight, and a safe space where you can begin to make sense of your experiences.

Counselling is a collaborative journey — together, we’ll build a trusting relationship where you can feel truly heard and supported.

Each person is unique, shaped by their upbringing, environment, and relationships. I tailor our work together to suit your individual needs, ensuring our journey reflects your experiences and personal goals.

My Journey to Becoming a Counsellor

My path to becoming a counsellor was shaped by both personal and professional experiences. After several years working in the corporate world, I witnessed first-hand how life’s unexpected challenges can impact our well-being.

My own journey through counselling also had a profound effect on me - experiencing the power of a supportive, containing space inspired me to offer the same to others.

I chose to train in psychodynamic counselling because I believe that our struggles rarely arise out of nowhere - they are often rooted in early experiences and unconscious patterns. This approach aligns deeply with my understanding that lasting change comes from exploring and making sense of these deeper layers.

Experience & Current Work

Before starting my private practice, I worked as a counsellor within an Employee Assistance Programme, supporting clients with a wide range of personal and work-related challenges.

Alongside my private practice, I also work part-time at a leading children’s mental health charity in London.

I am based in London and York, and work with clients across the UK.
